Developed for book lovers, this online tool not only allows you to easily create an online account and catalog of your own, it also connects you to other people who have similar libraries and reading tastes.
Add a book to your catalog just by entering the title -- it's so easy you don't even need to be a cataloger to do it -- or connect with other readers through your similar reading tastes. There are lots of ways to use Library Thing. You can view your books on a virtual shelf, add a widget to display titles that are in your catalog or install a search box on your blog.

LibraryThing is not the only personal cataloging application out there. You might also try All Consuming (not only catalog books, but music, movies and even meals!) or Goodreads.

I’m befuddled by your challenge to “Put a Librarything widget on your blog.”
I am completely baffled by the widgets. One works for me; one doesn't. I have been able to make and add the search my library widget, but every time I try the "Put Your Library on Your Blog" one I fill out the form; I click "Make it" and it doesn't. Does the code just evaporate into cyberspace? Has it broken loose and fallen to the bottom of my computer? Do I need to fill out a ticket for someone from Network Services to come and open the box so I can look for it?

Unclear on the concept
iStar is sorry that you're befuddled. The steps iStar has used to make a widget are:
- Click the Tools tab in LibraryThing
- Click Make a Standard Blog Widget
- Make your selections (i.e. random vs. new books, how many, etc.)
- Click Make It
- Copy the code HTML code
- In Blogger, select Template
- Click Add new Page Element
- Select HTML/Javascript
- Paste the LibraryThing Code in the content box
- Click Save Changes
That should add your widget.
